Peach Crumble Smoothie Bowl

"You are obsessed with those things aren't you?" said my boyfriend about my smoothie bowl habit. Yes I am.  Which is exactly what I said to him and I won't deny it.  I love them.  He wouldn't understand. It is all about me being girly on the weekend and treating myself after my long run.  It is a routine.  Run, and clear my mind while I do so, making room for creativity and new ideas as well as take care of any stress I may have.  Then when I get home, relaxation time.  Just me, my smoothie bowl my music of choice depending on the mood I am in, and sitting down with a good book (probably a good recipe book full of food porn to drool over and get ideas).  One of the best parts of my week honestly, and as far as the smoothie bowl part of the routine goes, the flavor of the bowl is not exactly routine which makes it fun.  It changes every week and I find it exciting to come up with a new flavor according to what I have on hand.  This week it was Peach Crumble Smoothie Bowl.  I made a delicious peach smoothie which was amazing since I had frozen the peaches myself when they were perfectly ripe.  I was craving a crumble...so I topped it off crumble fashion with some omega 3 rich seeds as well as crunchy coconut and pecans.  Sooo good, dessert but healthy and nourishing to my body after the run.  Do yourself a favor and make yourself a smoothie bowl this week and have some quality you time!  Trust me it is glorious to do so.

Peach Crumble Smoothie Bowl
Serves 1

Smoothie:
2 cups frozen peaches
1 cup frozen bananas, cut into pieces
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp cardamom
1 scoop raw vanilla protein powder (optional, I used Garden of Life brand or Sunwarrior Blend)
1/4-1/2 cup raw hemp milk or coconut milk (depending on how liquidy you like it, I like mine thick so I add less)
stevia to taste (optional, or your choice liquid raw sweetener)

Toppings:
ground flaxseed
shelled raw hemp seeds
large flake coconut
raw pecan pieces

For the smoothie, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth, using the tamper to press the mixture into the blades.  Pour into a bowl, top with toppings (I used about 1 Tbsp of each).  Enjoy!
