Lavender Lemon Sugar Scrub
I ran out of facial scrub a while back, and I realized I was paying far too much for it. It was time to try making my own. I had seen many recipes for sugar scrub, and I decided that it was about time I made some to try. I had a lot of sugar still in my cupboards that was just sitting there since I used to use it a lot for baking before I eliminated refined sugars from my diet. It was just begging to be used, and in a healthy way, not being eaten, but smoothing my skin! The best use for sugar I can think of. I decided to mix it with coconut oil since that is what I put on my face all the time anyway, and I had it on hand. The first type I made was simply vanilla cinnamon, and let me tell you, it smelled amazing...like dessert every morning when I scrubbed my face in the shower. I have since made it a few times, as it has ran out, and I love the stuff and this last time, I decided to try a different flavor.
Lavender Lemon. If you read this blog often, you know I am obsessed with that flavor combination. Seriously though...if you make this scrub and you use it, it will put you in your happy place. It might make you hungry too, but it definitely will make your skin happy.
Lavender Lemon Sugar Scrub
Makes enough for one large jar
1/4 cup organic cane sugar
1 cup Turbinado sugar
1 cup raw virgin coconut oil
a few drops lavender essential oil
2 Tbsp dried lavender
1 tsp organic lemon zest
In a bowl, place the sugars. add the coconut oil, lavender oil, lavender and lemon zest, and mix well. Place in a large shallow jar (so it is easier to scoop out when you go to use it) and let the coconut oil solidify.

Mrs. P is obsessed with lavender.. We have some growing in the back yard so once we dry it, we will try it.
That would be amazing with home grown lavender! You are lucky to have it :)!
Do you leave the jar of the scrub out or in the fridge?
You can leave it out. I leave mine in a container in the shower.
