Fragrant Vanilla Cake Sweet and Savory Givaway!

I have really good news!  My book Fragrant Vanilla Cake Sweet and Savory is now published!  I have been working on this book for about a year, and I am so happy that it is ready to now share with you all! I have been making new recipes, tasting, and typing for what seemed like forever and now it is finally in print.  Over 100 recipes, mostly new and all delicious.  Since my last book Rawlicious Desserts was all desserts, I thought I should create a book with every meal of the day this time, and that is what Fragrant Vanilla Cake Sweet and Savory is.  Breakfasts, Drinks, Soups, Salads, Appetizers, Snacks, Main Dishes, and of course Desserts!  I have tried to include something for everyone here from the really simple to the fit for a celebration recipes.  To celebrate the book finally being published I want to give away two copies!  If you would like to win a copy, simply scroll all the way to the bottom of the page!  There are multiple ways to enter, good luck to you all! You have until July 12th to enter. On your way to the bottom of the page (scroll slowly) you will find that I have also included a sneak peak at some of the recipes in the book, as well as one of the recipes for a delicious dessert! If you simply can not wait for my book though, you can buy it HERE on Amazon in both print and kindle edition.

So, since I am teasing you with all of the recipes for my book that you do not yet have, I thought I would share one of them with you!  My Raw Brondie Bites, a hybrid of a brownie and a blondie, these are so delicious and one of my favorites!  They require no dehydration, so you can enjoy them sooner!

Raw Brondie Bites (Brownie + Blondie =Deliciousness)
Makes 20
2 cups soft medjool dates, pitted
1 1/2 cups ground flaxseed
1 cup shelled hempseeds
2 cups  finely shredded dried coconut
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup raw cacao powder
In a food processor, combine the dates, flaxseed, hempseeds, coconut, sea salt, and vanilla extract and process until smooth and starting to hold together.  Remove from the food processor and divide in two.  Place half back in the food processor and add the cacao powder and process until smooth.  Place on a foil lined sheet pan and roll out with a rolling pin into a 1/2 inch thick square.  For the other half of the filling, knead in chocolate chunks (being careful not to handle them too much because they will start to melt).  Then using a rolling pin to assist, place on a foil lined sheet pan and roll into a 1/2 inch thick square, and carefully using spatulas, place on top of the brownie layer and press down slightly.  You may need to reshape the edges with a bench scraper or knife to make them even.  Place in the freezer for about 30 minutes until cold, then cut into small one and a half inch squares.  Store in the fridge.

I am fascinated by the way raw cuisine uses everyday items in unexpected ways - such as red pepper boats for soup, cashews for cream, etc. I have not only increased my veggie and fruit consumption by eating raw - I've discovered new love for those I previously overlooked. I'd love to win your new recipe book because I can't wait to see the creativity (and deliciousness) you've created!

  4. July 6, 2014 at 14:38

I would like to win your book so I can sit down with it and pour over your recipes again and again, take it to the kitchen and discover new ways to work with raw ingredients, and of course: colour photos. Who doesn't love the amazing photos?! FR: Darcie Birdsell<br />

Hi I would really love to have a copy of your book because I love healthy eating! I'm a budget tight college student all the way in Asia. Raw vegan food trends here are still not very much heard of yet so I have to make my own raw vegan desserts. And I would love love love to know how to make those Raw Strawberry Goji Berry Doughnut Holes because they look absolutely delicious!

  6. July 6, 2014 at 15:12

All of your recipes are amazing! It would be great to have a book that i could keep in my kitchen instead of running back to the computer or pulling the recipes up on my phone! lol

  13. July 6, 2014 at 15:39

I would love to win the Fragrant Vanilla Cake Sweet and Savory recipe book because I have always been a fan of Amy's recipes. Cheesecake is and have always been my favorite dessert. I discovered raw vegan recipe alternatives through Amy's blog and have been blown away by her desserts ever since. It is a great opportunity to be able to bring this recipe book into my home. No more writing down recipes and viewing from a laptop in my kitchen, I could have a book to sit perfectly on my recipe book holder. Thank you Amy, for this opportunity. Best of luck to all the entries. :)

Love your REAL food recipes. I love sharing them with others (which I do by email) but to show visiting friends from your recipe book, what they are enjoying with their cuppa not only tasted good but is raw & delicious (& that I'm not pulling their leg ...) inspires even more people. <br />I love the portion sizes & that you use obtainable ingredients & they all turn out amazing <br />Thankyou for sharing Amy<br />The Aussie Healthynut.

I would love to have a copy because I still value beautiful cookbooks! While on-line access to raw recipes is efficient, there is something special about holding a beautiful book in your hands...your recipes are pleasing to all of the senses!

  41. July 7, 2014 at 10:00

I'd love to have your book to have your recipes to hand instead of rushing up and down stairs to find and print something out. :)

Nothing makes me want to create food as much as your wonderful pictures and recipes. So I definitely need this in my kitchen. I live in a romantic garden by a norwegian fjord where I try to live as self sufficient and environmentally friendly as possible, but that also means I'm on a low budget. So I would be beyond happy to being able to have this book in my old style kitchen ;) Love and blessings, thanks for the good work!

Congratulations! I would love to win your book because I adore the look and love the taste of the recipes of yours I've made so far. Granted they've been few due to my lack of access to certain ingredients, but I don't intend to remain a poor student forever, and your recipes are so delicious that I'd definitely be making more of them as soon as I'm able! And until then I'd just happily stare at the pictures much in the same way as one would stare at a book of paintings... Your food styling and photography are very much works of art. ^^

I had a near fatal car accident 22 months ago and I have put on a fair bit of weight, I constantly feel tired and lethargic and I think your food will help me get my eating habits back to healthy ones. Congratulations on your latest edition, I adore your photography and antique inspired settings not to mention love your recipes. I would love to win a copy to further aid me on my personal health journey. At the start of 2013 I went 100% Organic, June 2013 added on Gluten-Free, and April 2014 added on Vegan.
